Like most of you, I have been engulfed with the current situation in Ethiopia – the Disheartening, Hurtful and Despicable act towards our Oromo brothers and sisters by the Wayane regime has been unthinkable . Listening to some of the media outlets, there is an appealing message which has been floating around that has grabbed my attention. And that is, ” The Mistrust and Fear between the two largest ethinic groups, The Oromos and Amharas, has allowed the Wayane regime to Distroy Ethiopia, what if these two ethinic groups come together and built a healthy relationship based on a mutual respect and equal power sharing”. This really resonated with me and I started thinking and decided to share with you what is in my mind hoping that it would spark some constructive dialog between us.
According to some source Oromos and Amharas make up 70-80% total population of Ethiopia. I would like us to dialog on the following questions: 1. Given the history between the two ethinic groups, do you believe that the two would be willing to come together and build a healthy and strong Ethiopia? 2. What would it take for these two ethinic groups to come together and lead Ethiopia based on a mutual respect and equal power sharing? 3. How can they fix/overcome the Mistrust and Fear between them to build healthy and strong relationship to work together ? So, with this I pause and let you give your opinion. Thank you.
