Premier Abiy Confers with Chancellor Merkel

Addis Ababa October 30/2018 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has discussed with German Chancellor Angela Merkel today in Berlin, Germany.

After concluding his visit to France, Premier Abiy has arrived in Berlin, Germany early this morning as part of his trip to Europe.

Upon arrival the Prime Minister was received by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The two leaders have conferred on how to consolidate the multifaceted relations between Ethiopia and Germany, according to Spokesperson Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both leaders reached agreements on further strengthening relations on bilateral, regional and international issues, Angela Merkel has also appreciated the ongoing sweeping reform in Ethiopia.

The Prime Minister will also hold discussions with anchor German companies and is expected to attend the second edition of the Compact with Africa (CwA) meeting, in which at least 12 African heads of states anticipated to attend the event scheduled to take place today.

Moreover, PM Abiy will adress more than 25,000 Ethiopians drawn from across European countries in Frankfurt under the theme of: “Stand together, Build the Future”.

The Premier has held discussion with France President Emmanuel Macron on bilateral, regional and international mutual agenda yesterday.
